I personally haven’t run any YouTube channel so far (mainly because I’m camera-shy). However, over the past few years, I’ve worked as a freelance marketing assistant with a Kolkata-based media company, where I closely observed how desperate people—even companies—can be to gain subscribers on their YouTube channels. They brought in views and subscribers through platforms like Views4You and social media campaigns for Sub4Sub.
An individual is probably doing this to reach the monetisation market quickly, but a company or organisation has many other reasons, such as branding their channel or impressing artists.
You can’t say that they are unaware of the long-term side effects of this unethical promotion. They know that- YouTube may stop recommending their content, flag their channel, or even issue a total ban. But still they are doing…
Why Sub4Sub Still In The Market?
It’s true that Sub4Sub or platforms like Views4You can quickly generate subscribers compared to organic methods. Although it’s unethical, people are doing this because human attention is result-based.
Many people (like the company I worked with) are doing both unethical and organic promotion, such as YouTube Ads and collaborating with creators in parallel ways, to minimise risk factors.
Here, also, one thing must be considered: people who operate programs like Sub4Sub are present everywhere on social media, as well as directly in emails attached to YouTube accounts. Although it’s a scam, they still proudly present themselves even on YouTube like influencers.
So, here is a great chance for a beginner to fall into this trap.
So, Should You Do It or Avoid It? 😕
Let’s try to clarify this confusion as easily as possible.
Case 1
Now, I’m assuming you have started or are going to start YouTubing for the long run. I mean, you want to establish your identity, attract people to your work, and make a living on YouTube.
So please never try to use a service like Sub4Sub. It silently kills your channel, even if your content is good.
Case 2 (I’m joking)
If you’re not serious about YouTubing in the long run. You just want to show up or impress someone by showing your subscriber volume, then you can do it.
